The Area Manager is a critical leadership role within Amazon’s operations network, responsible for managing a team of Operations Managers and overseeing the overall performance of a specific geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and Lead a Team of Operations Managers: The Area Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Operations Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure they are equipped to manage their respective sites effectively.
Drive Operational Excellence: The Area Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence across their area, focusing on key metrics such as safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Develop and Implement Strategic Plans: The Area Manager will develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational performance, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
Analyze and Interpret Data: The Area Manager will analyze and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop action plans to address them.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: The Area Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including transportation, inventory management, and customer service, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a Related Field: A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business administration, logistics, or supply chain management, is required.
5+ Years of Experience in Operations Management: The Area Manager must have at least 5 years of experience in operations management, with a proven track record of success in leading teams and driving operational excellence.
Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: The Area Manager must possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire their team to achieve exceptional results.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The Area Manager must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
Ability to Travel: The Area Manager must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, as required.
