Description

 Cashier

Job Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a high level of cash handling accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient way.
  • Provide personalized banking solutions to customers, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and increase customer loyalty.

Transaction Processing:

  • Accurately process customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and bill payments.
  • Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures.

Cash Handling:

  • Maintain a high level of cash handling accuracy, balancing cash and reconciling discrepancies at the end of each shift.
  • Manage cash inventory, ordering supplies as needed and maintaining a secure and organized workspace.

Operations:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of bank products and services, staying up-to-date on new offerings and promotions.
  • Participate in branch operations, including opening and closing procedures, and assisting with daily reconciliations.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and report suspicious transactions, adhering to bank policies and procedures related to fraud prevention and detection.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies when handling customer information.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. business, finance) an asset.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
  • Experience in a banking or financial institution an asset.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent customer interactions.
  • May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
