Cashier
Job Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a high level of cash handling accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and efficient way.
- Provide personalized banking solutions to customers, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and increase customer loyalty.
Transaction Processing:
- Accurately process customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and bill payments.
- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures.
Cash Handling:
- Maintain a high level of cash handling accuracy, balancing cash and reconciling discrepancies at the end of each shift.
- Manage cash inventory, ordering supplies as needed and maintaining a secure and organized workspace.
Operations:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of bank products and services, staying up-to-date on new offerings and promotions.
- Participate in branch operations, including opening and closing procedures, and assisting with daily reconciliations.
Risk Management:
- Identify and report suspicious transactions, adhering to bank policies and procedures related to fraud prevention and detection.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies when handling customer information.
Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. business, finance) an asset.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
- Experience in a banking or financial institution an asset.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent customer interactions.
- May be required to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
