Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable management, and payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state accounting regulations, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant banking regulations.
• Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard assets, minimize risk, and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a timely and accurate basis.
• Conduct regular financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend analysis, to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Work collaboratively with other departments, such as loan origination, risk management, and investment management, to provide financial expertise and insights.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role within a financial institution highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant banking regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in accounting software programs such as QuickBooks or SAP.

Experience
