Job Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading Sberbank, one of the largest banks in Russia, to achieve its strategic objectives and maximize shareholder value. The CEO will provide vision, direction, and leadership to the bank’s management team, ensuring the development and implementation of business strategies, risk management, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement the bank’s long-term strategy, aligning with the Board of Directors’ vision and objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, challenges, and risks, and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set the bank’s overall direction, goals, and objectives.
Operational Management
Oversee the overall operations of the bank, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.
- Lead the development and implementation of business plans, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Ensure the bank’s operations are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.

Risk Management
Oversee the bank’s risk management framework, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
- Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ensure the bank’s risk profile is aligned with its risk appetite and tolerance.
Financial Management
Oversee the bank’s financial management, ensuring the optimization of financial performance and capital allocation.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
- Ensure the bank’s financial performance is aligned with its strategic objectives.
Talent Management and Development
Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent, ensuring the bank has the necessary skills and expertise to achieve its objectives.
- Develop and implement talent management and development programs.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, investors, customers, and employees.
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Ensure the bank’s reputation is maintained and enhanced through effective communication and stakeholder management.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role in the banking industry.
- Proven track record of success in leading large-scale organizations and driving business growth.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the banking industry, including regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Fluency in Russian and English.
