Description

Service Technician

Job Summary:

The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing Tesla vehicles to ensure they are running at optimal performance. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostics and Repair

  • Diagnose and repair Tesla vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including brake pad replacements, tire rotations, and software updates
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues
  • Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to resolve issues efficiently

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with customers about their vehicle’s status and repairs
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding service expectations

Quality Control

  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all repairs meet Tesla’s high standards
  • Identify and report any defects or issues with vehicles or equipment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve service quality and efficiency

Teamwork and Development

  • Collaborate with other service technicians and service advisors to share knowledge and best practices
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques
  • Mentor and assist junior technicians in their development

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., automotive repair) preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with electric vehicles
  • ASE certification in electrical systems, brakes, and suspension and steering preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment

Work Environment

  • Work in a dynamic and fast-paced service center environment
  • Exposure to loud noises, chemicals, and heavy machinery
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
